Story from the certificate of authenticity:
This painting is Awely [ Women's Ceremony] on M'Bunghara Creek northern west of Alice Springs. Some of the women [indicated by U shapes]. Others are lined up performing Ceremony. Some are sitting with panth [coolamon] and anem [digging sticks], and others just have panth as a part of a ceremony.
M'Bunghara, located on M'Bunghara Creek [known as Dashwood Creek} surrounded by Glen Helen Station, is where Audrey's mother, Maryanne Raggett was born to her mother Daisy Leura Nakamarra and father Tim Leura Tjapaltjarri. It is now home to a small Outstation Community of extended family, also called M'Bunghara.
